Brilliant emerald eyes scanned the forest as brown, messy hair blew softly in the wind. Katie looked around to see if there was anything she could hunt. She was a semi-skilled hunter, but was also a very good pick pocketer if need be. She didn't like to steal, but that was the only way you could make ends meet sometimes. You had to do what you had to do.
Katie moved into the forest and then stopped. She listened to the sounds around her, but heard nothing. Apparently there were no wild boars or things around at the moment. She would probably just have go without food tonight. If she didn't get anything tomorrow, she would have to subside to pickpocketing again.
Katie had been alone since she was about twelve, so knew her way around Alinor pretty well. She had lived in that area for so long, that it seemed impossible to leave. She knew ever short cut from the city to the forest and where each and every road went. She wasn't to familiar with the other area's of Alinor, but had been to each of the quite a few times. The area she knew best, though, was the forest.

Fluttering through the forest on silent glowing wings, the tiny fire fae looked around bored. Brand had enough of the dim witted person he had tagged along with last and ditched the fool, after taking his prized shiney gold coin. Which wasn't much smaller then the fae himself.
He spotted a human a littles ways off, and started to make his way towards her. Brand's flight was lagged by the coin he carried, clutching it tightly in his clawed hands. Firey wings missing a beat he dropped closer to the ground, nearly to the human female he let out what sounded like a mix between a bark and a whimper in frustration as his grip slipped slightly and he almost dropped his new coin.

Katie sighed as she looked around her. She then heard a strange sound, a sound she had never heard before. She looked up and soon spotted a small firey creature carrying a gold coin. It was fluttering about, barely holding on to that little gold coin. He seemed as if he would drop it at any second, but never did.
Hello there little guy. Need some help? Katie asked a little cautiously. The creature looked like a fairy, and was small enough to be a fairy, but you could never be positive in this world of creatures. She watched the seemingly fairy move about, and wondered if it was going to land. She also wondered if it could speak to her.

Brand continued his lagging flight towards the human, and tried to get a better grip on that d**ned coin. This time it slipped from his left hand, but he held tight with his other hand. The motion of the dropping coin pulled the fae farther downward.
"Some help would be great miss!" Brand called to the human, his voice was slightly squeaky and airy. The coin was rather annoying, but valueable otherwise he wouldn't have bothered with it. Brand had thought about trying to eat it, but he knew that was a bad idea.

Katie laughed at the small firey creature. She jogged over to it and held up her hand so he could drop the coin into her hand. He kept flying further down so she would have to move her hand until he dropped it.
It's okay, I won't take it. I only steal from other humans, she said with a slight laugh. A pickpocketer she was every once in a while. Though ashamed of it, that was the way life was. That was the only way you could survive in this world. You just had to do what you had to do.

Instead of just dropping the coin, Brand stopped beating his wings and dropped himself into her palm. The tiny firey creature looked to the human's face. "Thank you kindly miss.", He laughed at he comment about only stealing from other humans.
"I'm not quite worried about you taking it miss, I could just take it back like I took if from the loser who had it first." He re-gripped his coin, and hopped up Katie's arm to rest on her shoulder. Sitting down, and holding the coin on his lap he asked her, "What do they call you miss?"

Katie laughed at this silly little fairy. She kept her palm flat so he wouldn't fall, then let her arm fall back to her side as he moved up to her sholder.
I am Katie Zanthe. Been called Katie all my life, she said with a slight smile. How about you? What do they call you? The littly firey creature looked funny holding a coin the size of himself. It must be quite heavy for him, yet he didn't put it down. He seemed to be determined at doing things himself, which was the way she was. She accepted help from others, but liked to see if she could manage it before she did ask for help.

"They call me Brand, Katie miss." Swinging his feet as the looked around from this new pearch of Katie's shoulder. It was a nice view, and not at all uncomfortable. Looking down at the coin, he examenied it, for the first time since he got it really.
He sighed quitely, and looked up to Katie's face. "So what is Katie miss doing in the forest?"

I was trying to hunt, but there seems to be nothing out here at the moment, Katie said with a sigh. She was very sick of trying to catch something and there wasn't anything there, but hunting was not the only reason she came to the forest. She had had many wonderful memories of her father in the forest, and liked coming here and revisiting those memories.
So, why are you flying around the forest carrying that huge coin Mr. Brand? Katie asked with a slight smile. Even though the coin was not large to her, it seemed to be bigger than the fairy. She still wonders how he carries it around everywhere. She also wondered about the person he stole it from, but knew she had no right to ask that. She stole from people all the time.

The small Fae thingyed his head to the side then spoke; "Well see I was tagging along with this dimwitted mister, and he gots drunk so when he passed out I took his coin and got aways from his stench a soon as I could." He paused slightly and nodding to himself he continued; "Yup, thats what happened."
Sure brand liked some alcohol but the cheap stuff the fool had drank was horrible, it stank like stale horse urine, or perhaps that was just the drunkard. It didn't matter though, because it was gone and done.
